Third Board Meeting

August 21, 2011

On August 19th, 2011, Beyond the Wall's third board meeting was successfully completed at around 8 PM. The board covered many important topics, such as ways to continue promoting the campaign and how to continue receiving donations for the upcoming Christmas distribution. Many activities, presentations, and changes to the image of Beyond the Wall will be seen very soon. What is Beyond the Wall?

Beyond the Wall is the name of an organization with the mission of continuing to help the needy town of El Talon, located in the outskirts of Cartagena, Colombia.

Fernando Nuñez Esquiaqui, resident of Orlando, FL and only 17 at the time, began this organization on December 23rd, 2008, when he promised the residents of El Talon some help. On July 18th, 2009, with the help of many supporters, Fernando successfully distributed donations that he picked up from central Florida to every residents in El Talon. Since 2008, Beyond the Wall has had five successful distributions in El Talon, with plans to continue. Medical missions have also been completed...with hopes for more!

I was born in Fountain Valley, California on May 29,1991. I have a sister named Carrie, who is two years older than me. My parents were born in Colombia; my father is from Palmira, Valle and my mother is from Turbaco, Bolivar. My family and I currently reside in Orlando, FL and I currently attend Valencia College. I really enjoy traveling, writing, and learning about different cultures. I am currently majoring in Economics, and when I graduate, I would also like to get my pilot's license…since aviation has always been a passion of mine. I have many plans in my life, and Beyond the Wall will always be part of them. I feel very proud to be a Colombian-American, and I believe that this is an excellent way to show my pride.
